Anyone using Vittoria Rubino Pro tires?

Anyone using Vittoria Rubino Pro tires?

I've got the Vittoria Diamante Pro's on 2 sets of wheels and I love them.
However..they ARE race tires and therefore they're supple, soft and thin
under the tread.  The Rubino's are a little more robust, but I'm curious
how much heavier/'leaden' they might feel.  Comments, anyone??

Re: Anyone using Vittoria Rubino Pro tires?

Hi Bill
I also am using the Diamonte Pro's on one of my bikes. I agree that they ride great. It has been a while since I used the Rubino's. They did not hit me as anything special. I think any tire that is designated as long mileage will never ride as well as a tire that is for racing. I have tried and used the long mileage tires from Conti and Michelin. They all ride about the same as far as I am concerned. Now, if you really want to dampen the road shocks and avoid pinch flats, let me tell you about tubeless tires.

Re: Anyone using Vittoria Rubino Pro tires?

Hey hey,

I rode 28mm Rubinos a coupla seasons back.  I very much liked them.  They were relatively light, pumped up to a springy 120 PSI and provided decent feedback.  I'm a huge fan of the Corsas, but recently stepped down to the Diamantes after an utterly horrific bout of flats.  I think Rubinos are another notch down -- a little less supple and a tad heavier -- but pretty decent once they heat up a bit.  That singing Corsas do, that is more muted in the Diamantes, is still there (albeit yet less pronounced).
