Moving on...

Moving on...

As some of you may know, the past three years have not been kind to me, professionally, in fact, most of my BBC time has been because of the lack of a job to go to.  I have now found a position in Columbus, OH, and will be moving on in January.  I've already looked at Map my Ride, and seen that it'll likely be years before I ride another hill.  I'd like to thank all of those with whom I've spent many hours in the saddle for making at least that part of the day a bit more bearable.

I consider that time spent out of the saddle.

Damn.
Hate to lose a Ramble rider. And worse yet, one with a good sarcastic wit.
Best of luck to you in your new digs, Tim.

Ya know, it's only 6 hours to Berryville for the Back Roads Century.

That's good to know, in case I get the itch for the Midatlantic.  It's going to be  whole new cycling world:  a 230-mile ride with 2,000ft of total climbing? Really?

Re: Moving on...

What a great place to organize one of those June/summer solstice rides where you try to do a double century in a day.  When Terry set up ours, it was pretty much insane with over 10,000 feet if you completed the 200 miles!

Like you, after the economy collapsed I had to do what they say to never do and took a job WAY below my capabilities or "status" but after a couple of years I was able to get back to a better job and at least that job paid some of my bills and I didn't have to move out of this prime cycling territory.

The bright side was that year when my business collapsed in 2008 I got in my only 4,000+ mile year.  The rest of them have been at least 3,000 until this year with my new very demanding job and I barely got in 2,000 miles this year.    Also, I have ridden a couple of times with the group ride in Hilton Head and can recommend that you invest in some new corncob rear cassettes.  The laugh at me with my 11-25 down there, right before they accelerate to the end of the ride eventually blowing me out the back at stupid flatland speeds!

Take Care,
Stuart
