Cyclist Killed On Roland Avenue

Re: Cyclist Killed On Roland Avenue

With the presence our biking organizations have in Baltimore, we should be able to demand action and receive answers about this incident from our elected officials and lawmakers

I find it remarkable that Bishop Cook has yet to be charged with anything. Don't you?

I would like to assume the police are busy building a case against her. So help me, if she gets off with a fine and community service -- the usual BS slap on the wrist with which vehicular homicide is customarily shrugged off -- I'm going to blow a gasket.

Re: Cyclist Killed On Roland Avenue

I agree that the sun-in-her-face argument is a red herring.   Just look at Mr. Palermo's bike: the seat stays looked to be severely buckled/crushed essentially ~bilaterally.  In effect, it looks like he took a direct hit from the rear and that that was the probable cause of his being thrown up on the hood and windshield of the car.  This was no side-swipe situation:  he looks to have been run over from behind, pure and simple.

Finally, as additional information is filtering in, it appears that the Right Rev. Cook may have made an an initial pass through the crime scene before returning to stop a second time.  Estimates of her return now range up to ~45 minutes.

Re: Cyclist Killed On Roland Avenue

Yesterday I wrote to the Baltimore City office of the State's Attorney urging them to come forward with information and to prosecute the case.  (At least I think that's the right place to write. This is the office run by Gregg Bernstein who lost in the primary to Marilyn Mosby - I don't know if she takes over today or later in Jan.)  If others want to write, the address is mail@stattorney.org .

Sad, just going on a bike ride and getting killed.

It was a good turn out today. A lot of news cameras. It should be on at the 10pm news.
