We have two important events coming up. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the following:
•April 28: Baltimore County Annual Rural Roads Meeting at the Ag Center on Shawan Road, 5:30-7:30pm. Since passage of Rural Road Design Standards in 2008, the County has held an annual rural roads meeting to inform residents about upcoming road and bridge projects. VPC likes to demonstrate the community's interest in rural road projects by having a large turnout at this meeting.  We want to send a consistent message to the Department of Public Works (DPW) that the rural roads are important scenic resources that offer traffic-calming features (narrow, winding, natural shoulders, etc.) that should be maintained. We want to continue to express appreciation for DPW's willingness to use slurry seal and chip seal on rural roads and avoid unnecessary widenings that tend to invite speeding.
•May 12: VPC Annual Meeting at St. Thomas Church in Owings Mills. We will take the opportunity to revisit any road concerns with the County Executive and County Council members that represent the VPC territory and review other land use and development issues on our radar. The evening starts at 6 p.m. with refreshments, and the business meeting begins at about 6:30 p.m. Delegate Adrienne Jones (whose newly configured district stretches into VPC's territory) will be attending the meeting as well as Councilman Wade Kach and Councilwoman Vicki Almond.
I look forward to meeting you at these upcoming events!

Best regards,
