Indoor Training with Zwift

Indoor Training with Zwift

I was wondering if anyone is connected to Zwift, and cared to provide a review.
For me, the quality of life on an indoor trainer depends on how well and how long I can distract myself.

Re: Indoor Training with Zwift

No experience as yet, but my plan for next winter is to get a Smart trainer instead of joining a gym which I have done just for the spinning classes. The idea of watching a ride on a pc in front of the bike, watching the scenery (hundreds of rides in all parts of tje world) slow or speed up as I push or not, feeling resistance as the ride goes uphill, and training with a friend in real time, are all sounding like too much fun not to give it a try. Based on recommendations by an online guru (link below), I would buy the Tacx Vortex Smart (about $500) when the time comes.  There are software options, like Zwift, that work with or without a Smart trainer, but the game is better with the right trainer.  It is a bit maddening that Zwift does not give prices over the internet, but I think it is about $10 a month. It may be more. No clue as to why they don't tell what they charge, at least in my search.

Re: Indoor Training with Zwift

My solution has been to watch DVDs that distract me to the greatest extent possible from the fact that I am pedaling to nowhere. It helps also to set up a fan to evaporate the considerable sweat.

Today, of course, shoveling snow will provide all the exercise anyone needs.
