Rider crashed on "Geist Knox" ride this morning

Rider crashed on "Geist Knox" ride this morning

For anyone who has the contact information for a rider named "Jim" who rode the "Geist Knox" ride this morning;
he crashed on the corner of Broadway & Kelly and injured his head (likely concussion) He was taken to Sinai hospital and his bike is being held at Chestnut Ridge Fire Dept on Greenspring. I'm not sure if he had I.D. On his person. There was none in his saddle bag. I left a note on ride leaders windshield with the fire dept. phone number which is 410-887-7781.  Jim is a tall rider in his early 60's. His bike is a white carbon Giant. Please call his cell and/or the fire dept. in case no one else has done so yet. He was conscious and starting to regain  coherence when the ambulance took him. Thanks, Greg

Holy cow! Is there any word on Jim's condition? Witnesses? Jim is a skilled and experienced rider....was a motor vehicle involved?

Thanks to all those who took care of him -- let's hope he'll be okay.

Re: Rider crashed on "Geist Knox" ride this morning

Thanks to all for your expressions of concern, and to fellow riders for responding quickly and getting the ambulance out. Thanks also Janet for follow up calls to my wife with expressions of concern. I have two fractures in left clavicle and fracture of right humerus and hairline fracture in thoracic area of spine. Still at Sinai awaiting the next decision regarding my recovery. I have no recollection of what happened. The last thing I remember is making a left onto Broadway off of Greenspring Avenue. If someone can tell me what exactly happened, I would be most appreciative. Jim

Dispatch from Jim this morning:
-------------

Hi Janet- as I write this on a lovely Saturday morning, I hope you're getting ready to take a decent ride today.
My recovery is going as well as expected.  I was discharged from Sinai on February 16th after 12 days in the hospital including 8 days in rehab.  The rehab team at Sinai was great- the MDs, PTs and OTs were all on top of their game and easy to work with.
I still have a ways to go although the good news is that it appears that I will not need surgery to repair the broken right arm or the broken clavicle.  I won't have full use of the arm until early April and will continue to wear the back brace for another 3 weeks. Fortunately, my employer will allow me to telework until I'm able to drive and I start back to work this coming week.
I've tried twice to post an update on the BBC Forum but nothing happened after I hit the "submit" button.  Feel free to copy and paste this into a forum post,
This is all probably more information than you wanted but thanks again for your continuing support and for the lovely card.  Pass on thanks from me to Greg, Dan and Don for getting me the quick medical attention and to Ed for signing me up for the BBC umbrella policy.
Hope to see everyone on a ride in the not to distinct future.
All the best, Jim
