The Tuesday Night Time Trial is a service we provide to the local cycling community, it has become a very important event for our Team and our Club. This year we are adding a few features that while minor are going to improve the experience for folks coming out.  this is our link to the helper form for the TNTT. No experience is necessary to be a great helper at the TNTT. you'll learn all you need to in about 5 minutes, I'm asking for a staff of 3 for each night. But Like most of you I'd really like to ride the TT. myself so I hope we can rotate a few times.

I postponed the Fun Rollers ride scheduled for Saturday, Mar, 29 because of rain. The new date is Sunday, Apr 6

Even though the weather looks good for Saturday morning, I made some commitments so the start time will remain 1:00PM

popular ridding route in jeopardy w/ Heavy truck traffic
Forum: Road Problems

Notice

There has been a request for an exceptional use permit on a preserved farm in Dayton (Green Bridge Rd) for an industrial mulching factory.  There are many concerns the community has with this but for cyclists I am sure you will share our concern of the large truck traffic it will generate.  The estimate is up to 50 deliveries per day 6 days a week.  That means up to 100 passes of triple axel dump trucks and tractor trailers per day.  6:30am to 5 pm.  Our roads are narrow and not designed for this kind of traffic.  It will be dangerous for cyclists, drivers and joggers not to mention the school busses and bus stops.  The main roads effected will be Ten Oaks, Linthicum and Green Bridge.

We are having a community meeting Thursday 2/20 at 7pm at the Dayton Oaks Elementary School in Dayton.  Would you join us and invite any interested cyclist to come and show support for keeping Dayton rural.

If you have suggestions of other interested parties, please let me know.

All the Best,

Tim

Sorry all, I know the point of a indoor ride is to get a ride despite the crummy weather but I don't expect any body to take a risk on the roads for 60 minutes of trainer time tonight.

Stay Safe.

please contact Aaron Mongeau and explain why the weekly indoor rides were removed from the calendar.

I see no problem having a mandatory law requiring helmets for cyclists.    It couldn't hurt and it might give some parents a bit of leverage in getting their younger children to use them.   The basic argument to these nanny state issues is that by complying with the law there is a benefit to society in that injuries/fatalities are reduced.  This is akin to the seat belt law.

The issue of citations to drivers who break the law and hit cyclists or come within 3 feet is a separate issue and one of enforcement.  This is something for our advocacy arm, Bike Maryland and they are working on it.
