A version of one of my favorite rides from home, a combination of my easier warmer ride in reverse with some of Gary Brandon's PA Flatlands, about as easy as you'll find for 53 miles near Parkton & south PA.  Beautiful quiet roads, lots of farms and rolling terrain.  Nice breaks between climbs for recovery.  Weather is calling for mid 70's and mostly sunny, supposed to be mid 60's at ride start time.  Join me for a nice ride before the predicted Sunday rain.  Ride start is the Parkton Rail Trail Parking Lot, at the Bottom of Frederick Road and the NCR Rail Trail.

Just added a ride for Saturday and hope I'm not competing with Ed.  His 67 miles is farther than I'm comfortable with this weekend, but I wanted a fairly long ride.  Somewhat rolling with some good descents and pretty, mostly quiet roads.  The longest climb is the warm up right at the start.  Ride start is at the NCR Rail Trail parking lot in Parkton, near York and Frederick Roads.  This is not a trail ride.

Happy trails,  Dan

Hi Jim, you can use any of those tubes in a 700 X 28 tire. "They" recommend the proper sized tube so that the tube doesn't stretch too thin, making it more prone to flats.  Smaller/thinner tubes are lighter possibly making for a more supple ride. The reliability choice is yours to make. See you on the road dancing up those hills.

Jim Gagne guessed it.   Some of you may have recognized the roads.   My fall ride was Dan's Easier Warmer Ride in the que sheet gallery.

I took off early yesterday to enjoy the last warm day of riding from home before the clocks change.  Nice autumn colors, I took a photo.  Saw another nice scene and took another photo.  Soon I managed to document a really pretty Fall day on one of my favorite rides.  https://www.flickr.com/photos/42115798@ … 2456068234

Weather is totally overcast, roads wet, forecast now calling for drizzle all day w/ showers.  I'll be at the ride start to pass out cue sheets, but otherwise won't be riding. Dan 8-2-16

I added a ride from the the NCK NCRR-Parkton ride start.  Its a road ride, Dan's Reverse Easier Warmer with a bit of the PA Flatlands ride, about as easy a 53 miler as you can get in the area.  Longest hill is right at the beginning for a warm up, nice scenery, some nice descents and some climbing, but lots of recovery time in between.  Cue sheet at http://www.baltobikeclub.org/index.php/ … tdown/621/

Just added this to the calendar, Phil Manger's beautiful ride.  Starts from Taneytown Memorial Park (entrance opposite Harney Road).  Exact metric century from Taneytown through Bonneauville, Biglerville, Fairfield and Emmitsburg.  Terrain is flat-to-rolling, scenery is gorgeous, roads are low-traffic, and there are plenty of restaurants and stores.  The name of the ride says it all.
