A big thanks to Bill Blankenship for a great BBC Picnic at Taneytown Memorial Park on Sunday, July 9!  There was a BIG turnout, on a beautiful summer day, for the wonderful rides and free picnic lunch. It was a great opportunity to socialize with fellow members, ride through gently rolling countryside with few cars, and enjoy the delicious food. Thanks also to the ride leaders, officers, and anyone else who had a hand in making for a very fun event!

A big THANKS to Bob Carson and his committee for another very successful Kent County Spring Fling!  The milestone 35th version of this classic weekend was great fun, as always!  We met riders from Missouri, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Georgia--plus lots from the Mid-Atlantic region.  Four days of great riding and the vast majority of people never got wet:) The riders, food, quiet roads, cool weather, music/dancing, energy, ambiance, and charm of Chestertown and Washington College made for a wonderful Memorial Weekend!

Thanks Phil for all of your hard work and planning for the first Greencastle Great Escape weekend!  We loved your rides that explored the scenic back-roads and villages in Franklin County, Pa.  We also enjoyed the company of a very enthusiastic and friendly group of cyclists. A good time was had by all!  Thanks again!

Woody's Hitching Post (formerly Painted Pig) appears to be closed.  We rode by it, at Troyer and Shepperd Rds, this past Sat, Aug 17, and the sign was down, and it was deserted.

We will try to lead this tandem ride at a later date.

What seemed like a usual Saturday ride turned into a fun journey to a new "pancake breakfast" spot in Long Green Valley.  The fun included all the usual stuff--and a delicious breakfast.  We had a great group of people including an editor from Baltimore magazine who asked if he could use our picture for the magazine's faceback page.  That was neat and totally unexpected.   Below is the link where you can view the picture and the plug for the BBC and  the Tour Dem Parks ride.   Thanks Bill for a great ride.

Weather isn't cooperating today.  We will try to lead this ride later in the season.

We are cancelling Sunday's PA Flatlands tandem ride because of the storm and its aftermath.
