I use a Kurt Kinetic. The front legs are splayed and it is absolutely stable when standing.
Would it be possible to add some kind of stabilizer? I envision a long pipe or 2x4 board that is transverse rear tire and attaches either to the rear or front trainer legs.

I use BarMitts (http://www.barmitts.com/products.php?page=external). These are neoprene "booties" that slide onto each side of the handlebar. They are available in different sizes and for different bar types. They are fairly easy to install and remove.

Before using these my fingers would get cold even with fairly heavy gloves. Now I can use much lighter gloves (usually just wind resistant covers with wool liners). The downsides are that they limit your hand positions somewhat (can't use the drops with the lightweight gloves) and you have to consciously remember to reinsert your hand (e.g., after making a turn signal).

You should pick a size based on your expected gloves. I suggest a local shop that will let you exchange for a different size if needed.

The listed phone number is a recording. I recommend emailing their customer service.

Uvex is refunding my entire purchase price, even after five years of use.

I tried to access www.annapolisbicycleclub.org to get some route sheets but that web page appears to be a placeholder. Does anyone know what's happening with that club?
