Kickr studio
Category: Social

Hi,
A friend is opening a bike studio in Ellicott City.It uses Wahoo Kickrs. He has evening sessions scheduled. He asked what I would like from a bike studio. I told him sessions in the day time , focus on fitness, and class C or lower friendly, women friendly, and senior friendly.(I qualify for all these categories). With that in mind, we are working on setting up sessions. The sessions are computer generated programs similar to  Computrainer.

We have set up a trial session for me and I can invite my friends. I have 5 signed up. I can have several more. If any one is interested in doing a session with me or learning about a Kickr studio workout, please email me , csgcats@verizon.net.
The date is Nov. 2, 11:15 am. Cost is free for the session with no further obligation.

I have done  sessions before  and found them fun and helpful.

Hi,
The weather report predicts lousy weather on Sunday. I am changing the ride to Oct. 28 at 10 am.

Hi,

When leaving Glenwood Rec center after Mary Ryan's ride yesterday, I lost a bike bag. It is a black, under saddle wedge with a tube and some CO2 cartridges, etc. If anyone found it in the parking lot today, please email me , csgcats@verizon.net.

Thanks

Carole

Hi,
I was a volunteer at the Thurmont stop. I received many glowing comments about the BBC and the CWC.Everyone raved about how the CWC is the BESTEST! organized event that they have ever attended. Lots of thank yous for volunteering.
Kudos to the event organizers and the volunteers for making this such a wonderful event.

Mother Nature cooperated beautifully this year.

How many needed to be sagged?
Category: Social

Hi,
I was a volunteer at Thurmont. I was curious as to how many cyclists needed sagging and how many did we determine to be in serious condition. I know of one woman falling at Thurmont as she was starting. I took care of one young man who was overheated and dehydrated. I was able to check on him(he works at my bike shop) and he is fine. I took care of another, middle aged man from Delaware. Bill had severe cramps and was also overheated and dehydrated. He was shipped out by ambulance to Frederick Memorial. Does anyone know how he is doing?

problem with changing map
Category: Social

Hi,
Mary Ryan and I have posted a Halloween ride for Oct. 26.  The map for ride start shows the incorrect place.  I haven't been able to change it? Would someone give me directions on how to change the marking on the map?

Thanks.
Carole

today's ride

Forum: Ride Reports

Bob and I had 22 cyclists today.  Great ride.  It did get a little hot and icky on the last 8 miles of the ride. I did have concerns today regarding the safety of the riders.  Information gathered from the riders  prompt me to write reminders to keep every one safe.

Please eat breakfast before undertaking a moderate length ride and maybe bring a little snack.  Todays ride did not have  food or water available until mile 24. For most of us, the ride start was an hour drive.  Add that to 24 miles of cycling and there is no calorie consumption for many hours.

Bring plenty of water.  A can of Red Bull on a hot day with no water could lead to a serious health event.

Happy to say, a serious health event was averted.  I "nagged" everyone into serious rehydration. Everyone finished the ride.
