My first lead of the season and only second ride of the year so I put average of 11 mph for my own pace. All speeds welcome.
The distance is 32 miles (or for a shorter route which will be provided, 22 miles). Both cue sheets lead you to the rest stop at Palmisano's (snacks, refreshments and port-a-pot). Please lean your bicycles on the pavilion at Palmisano's and NOT against the vinyl siding of the restaurant - thanks. Rest stop is at mile 21.2 for the long version and 10.5 miles for the shorter route. This is a fairly strenuous ride with some challenging hills, and offers beautiful scenery around Loch Raven and environs, especially now that the blossoms have sprung out on the trees.
We'll leave promptly at 10 am to start going north on Providence Road and into the Loch Raven watershed. No bathroom facilities at the ride start, but there is usually a port-a-pot at Manor and Carroll (the sportsfield), otherwise nothing until the rest stop.
