Ed Cahill's version of Ellen's Eldersburg To Emmitsburg ride. This one has the hillier return that adds a couple miles to avoid Liberty Rd. Short unpaved stretch on Sam's Creek on the way back can be avoided (as ride leader plans to do) by backtracking on Marston Rd.: left turn at mile 68.3 rather than a right.

Optional snack stop in Woodsboro at mile 25.7; lunch at Subway or snack at Exxon in Emmitsburg at mile 40.8; optional stop at lovely Sheetz in Taneytown, mile 52.9. Note that The Store Formerly Known As Little George's (miles 9.5 and 71.8) has removed the portable toilet out back, or at least they had as of last September.
