This ride is for the birds! Blackwater National Wildlife refuge will be a rest stop for thousands of migratory birds, and is home to Bald Eagles, swans and other wildlife.  This is a flat ride to Hoopers Island, with some bonus miles.  Casual riders are welcome.  In May I scouted the ride, and I rode to the very end of Hoopers Island.  We have a variety of distances on this ride. 32 miles to the lunch stop at Old Salty's and back, 39 to the bridge and back, or 47 to the end of Hoopers Island and back.  The Rain date will be the following Saturday.

Oct 6, 2014-Latest Info: We will be starting at the NEW Visitor Center located 1 mile along Key Wallace Drive. All riders are required to pay the $1.00, one dollar, entrance fee and you can pay AT THE OLD VISITOR CENTEER SELF SERVICE ENTRANCE. Pay the buck and keep the stub in you pocket. There is a rest room at the NEW Visitors Center. Directions from Cambridge are pretty easy.

Turn right onto MD-16 W/Church Creek Rd at the Wal Mart.  Go 7 miles and turn left on MD 335, Golden Hill Road.  Go 4 miles and turn Left onto Key Wallace Drive, and follow Key wallace Drive about 1 miles to the NEW Visitors Center entrance on Right. Drive Time from Towson is 2 and 1/2 hours. Address is 2145 Key Wallace Drive, Cambridge, MD but turn into the NEW Visitor Center.  Ride Leader Rick Todd Cell 443-465-1388.
