Join the Bike Coalition
Hello BBC Member and
fellow bike rider!
My name is Mike and I’m the admin over at Bike
Coalition. I’ve been putting together an internet community site for bike
riders and their clubs. With much anticipation, the BBC has become part of
this wonderful new and growing community. www.bikecoalition.com
Bike Coalition
is a place where like-minded people can meet, exchange tips, share experiences,
and further their knowledge and spirit of our sport with each visit. Now
you may be wondering why the BBC has decided to become part of the Bike
Coalition Community? Well here’s your answer: Nowhere have we seen a
successful venue where bike clubs or organizations can meet and communicate with
general bike riders and other clubs. We’re offering YOU a chance
to become part of this new community. A community where the members have
control and can a say how it is run. A community put together in order to
meet your needs.
Here is what the site offers, if you decide to join in
with other BBC members on the site. First of all, it is free. No
dues or subscription fees of any kind will be charged. In addition, the
BBC will be given their own section and discussion area within the forum, in
order to chat among yourselves and to put up any information you’d like others
to see, including the general public. I believe a worldwide alliance of
bicyclists and clubs will not only be beneficial to your club, but also to all
those who choose to visit the forum. To top it off, all members of the BBC
on the forum will have a BBC tag under their user name while posting in the
forums. This will be helpful to distinguish BBC members from the rest of
the Bike Coalition members on the forum.
BBC Webmaster Craig and I
sincerely hope you take this opportunity to not only join in the fun, but to
also help spread the spirit of our sport with others around the world.
I
look forward to seeing you there,
Mike

Joining
the Bike Coalition instructions:
First thing you need to do is
go to www.bikecoalition.com. To register,
click the Register link in the upper right hand corner of the page. Once
you fill out the information and make a user name, you will then be able to log
in and makes topics, post, and chat within the forum.
On the main page
you will see a list of different forums. The first thing you may want to
do is click on the Announcements forum. There you will see a welcome
thread and a Forum Rule thread. If you would like, you can go back to the
main page and click on the Introduction forum. There you can make your own
thread introducing yourself to the rest of the community. The one thing
you really need to do is to post in the BBC club thread. You will find
this by first clicking on Bike Clubs-> Baltimore Bicycling Club, Baltimore,
Maryland-> Then click the Reply button to post in the thread. This will
allow me to see that you are apart of BBC. You will then be given a BBC
title. From there you can do what you please. The forums are
categorized and have a description underneath the title. As BBC members,
you are the only ones allowed to post under the BBC Discussion
forum.
Bike Coalition also has its own Instant messaging as well.
If you would like to use this, make sure your popup blocker for Bike
Coalition is turned off. You can IM anybody by clicking the IM button
under their Username and Post count, or by clicking on their username and under
user statistics, click Send Instant Message. At anytime, you can check the
history of your messages by going to your profile, (upper right) and clicking on
Instant Message History. From there you can see everybody that you have
conversed with over the past couple of weeks. Everytime a new page is
loaded or you refresh, if your popup blocker is turned off, any new instant
messages will appear. Just for reference, so you know what I’m referring
when I’m talking about things on the site:
Categories-> Forums->
Threads-> Posts
For example, the first category is General-> forums
under it are Announcements , Introduction , Forum Suggestions & User
Assistance -> Click on any of them and you will then see the
threads/topics members create-> and within those threads/topics are posts
members make.
If you have any other questions or suggestions for the
site, please don’t hesitate to post under the Forum Suggestions & User
Assistance forum. You can also email me at mdbobbey@yahoo.com, and I’ll try to get
back to you as soon as possible.
