Spain and Portugal Tour
BBC member Stuart Bonning recently traveled with a few fellow cyclists from around North America on a self-contained bike trip across Spain and Portugal. Pictured above is Stuart's view from his bike while leaving Toledo. Find out more about the trip in Stuart's report.
Remembering Lee Fleishman
Lee Fleishman was a regular on the Seniors rides and he and his wife, Ruth, were active cyclists and regular volunteers at various BBC events. Lee also served as a volunteer ranger on the Northern Central Trail, as seen in the photo. This photo was taken at the dedication of the drinking fountain, etc., at the Paper Mill Road entrance to the trail Sept. 16, 2005. The BBC was a major contributor to the cost of the well and drinking fountain. In the photo Lee Fleishman is flanked by Frank Anders on the left and Russell Loy on the right.
2014 Weekend in Lancaster
Don’t you love it?! Even the bike shop is nestled among the farms and fields in the Amish countryside. Mary Jarcy is enjoying Friday’s ride and a stop Weaver’s. Read Evie Rensel's ride report to learn about more good times on the BBC 2014 Weekend in Lancaster.
BBC Tandem Riders Take on Havre de Grace
Seven couples came out for the Havre de Grace - Delta PA "Coffee-Coffee" CRABS ride on September 21, 2014. All enjoyed a nice lunch in Delta. And, even better, after the ride some stayed in Havre de Grace for the Lockhouse Museum Beer & Oyster Festival. You just can't find a better way to refuel and rehydrate after a 50 miler in and out of (read: Up and Down!) the Susquehanna River Basin.
Tandem Touring in England and Wales
Watch out for sheep! Out for a ride in the Elan Valley, Evie & Mike Reinsel soaked up the pristine surroundings of rural Wales as part of their big adventure bike touring the United Kingdom in July. See the Reinsel’s article for more about their tour.
2014 Corn Roast
BBC cyclists enjoy a post-ride lunch at the Union Mills Homestead in Westminster. A total of 124 cyclists participated in the rides before Corn Roast. See ride leader's report for more details.
Several members of the BBC took part in the annual Firefighter 50 cycling event on July 27, 2014. It always is an excellent fully supported ride with a bull roast, all the trimmings, and local homemade ice cream sandwiches! Pictured left to right are Rich Burns, Bill Wiesand, George Cordutsky, Marty Zemel, Beverly Feig, Frank Blatt and Larry Kenney. A great time was had by all on the 54 mile ride!
