Cyclist Killed On Roland Avenue

Re: Cyclist Killed On Roland Avenue

If I were the judge, no bail lest she get behind the wheel of a car again.

Re: Cyclist Killed On Roland Avenue

Here are the articles as posted in the Sun and Post.

The Sun is more detailed and has the video of our new State's Attorney (thank goodness we at least elected her in a surprise upset since she ran on these very issues) video of the news conference.

There MUST be no plea bargain, I'm not sure how we can affect this.  She must stand a full trial and this MUST be an example that reaches an international furor on both DUI and texting.  We must fill the courtroom, if necessary set up a rotation of teams.  PSA's need to be made, driver's ed classes need to be addressed.  This is the PERFECT time for one, special, rich, elitist, high-society individual to pay the total price for all those who have killed cyclists without recourse.  There is no civil transfer or her money to the Palermo family and no length of time in jail that reverses anything but she needs to be the example.

The loss of Tom is as much due to the state letting her go with a slap on the wrist the first time as anything other than her total irresponsibility (no loss of license, no rehab, no AA, hell, she was let off easier than I was last time a cop shot me with a laser for speeding).

Strait to hell with the alcoholic.

Re: Cyclist Killed On Roland Avenue

She blew a 0.22 breathalizer.
She was texting while driving (drunk, no less, and at ~3x over the limit).
She left the scene of a fatal crime.

It's a Trifecta!  Unbelievable.

For shame......
Shame on this woman.

And bravo to Ms. Mosby.

Re: Cyclist Killed On Roland Avenue

$2.5M bail shows the authorities are taking it seriously.

Not only that, the New York Times picked it up, with coverage even better than the Baltimore Sun's. That means worldwide exposure. Hopefully this will be the turning point in holding negligent and/or impaired motorists (in this case, both) responsible for killing and injuring cyclists.
