Re: cannondale EA70 synapse

The EA70 would seem to indicate that it is using Easton aluminum (alloy) components in the cockpit (stem and handlebars, likely). Many of the current Cannondale bikes seem to use a proprietary seatpost, so that doesn't seem to be a part of this equation.

Without knowing more about the bike, we couldn't tell you whether the frame is aluminum or carbon, in full or in part.

2014 mileage=5,156 miles;
2015  mileage=6,200 miles;
2016 mileage=17,503 miles;

Re: cannondale EA70 synapse

I didn't see anything about the a Synapse EA70 model on the Cannondale website either, but there are many models called Synapse.

Go to   http://www.cannondale.com/usa/usaeng/    and do  search for synapse    That will show you models back through 08.  Then go into the archives.  (Choose the bike drop down and archived is the last line.)  In the archives you'll find numerous synapse models (and frames some years) back through 2006.

Why are you calling it an EA70 model? Where is that on the bike?  What words & numbers are actually on the frame?  Where is EA70 located?  I didn't see an EA 70 model among the many Synapse models on the website, so maybe that isn't the model name.

Re: cannondale EA70 synapse

Thanks Guys.
I am calling EA70 because that' s how the bike is listed  for sale.
Like me, the seller does not know much about bikes, but told me  it is all carbon. Asking price 1500.00.
I will investigate some more.

Re: cannondale EA70 synapse

Sounds like they're just reading the label on the seatpost/wheel/stem or some other part. $1500 may or may not be a good price, depending on the components on the bike. (A new synapse carbon 6 with the low-end shimano components goes for about $1600) If you figure out the components, you can go to the cannondale archive ( http://www.cannondale.com/usa/usaeng/Archive ) and figure out what model synapse it is. Ask the seller what it says on the shifters and the rear derailleur and that should be a good indicator.
