Thank you Carol. It looks like 461 has indeed passed. It's too late to change anything, we're still doing a memorial ride, it's just a ride. There's more to this than the bill. I will urge everyone again to be on their best behavior, and I will stress it all day tomorrow.

Not sure what the comment about Marley station is referencing. Just imagine we'll be leaving Cromwell at 9:30ish and gauge from that when you'll meet us. Be early so you don't miss us or just get to Annapolis on your own, no sweat.

No more chatter on here. I have jpeg images of the Cromwell stop and where the B&A is in relation, where we congregate at the other end etc.
e-mail me and I will make sure you get the info.
If you're riding me you can get my map, Terry has it, pretty straight forward, we'll have a pdf. Aside from the city section and Hollins and Hammonds Ferry roads it's mostly on trail. Hollins Ferry Road is a nightmare though so if you're riding with me put some crappy rims on, or strong ones, and a spare tube or two.

My ride  from my house, a couple miles from Starbucks on Roland to the Cromwell LR station was about 1 hour.-saddle time. Considering slowing for lights, slowing to talk to other riders, the windy BWI trail, the Baltimore group should have no trouble getting to Cromwell on time. The times we stated should be roll out times, of course knowing there may be delays. As for people joining at Marley, you can time it to meet the group or go on down and meet in Annapolis.
Looks like we may be getting press and they are being told that we will be in the area of Lawyers Mall/Statehouse square, adjacent to the State House.
Still working on whether we will need the police or whether we plan to all meet at the end of the B&A and ride in together.
It may end up being easier to just get everybody to the State House without delay.

I've talked the MD Annapolis Police Dept. and they would be happy to provide an escort but we won't know that until I see the numbers at Cromwell. They can dispatch a squad car if need be.

Hi Joe,
Is this Joe from Joe's bikes?
Anyway, I think it's a bit late to pick a new start point and Butler is pretty far from Annapolis. There is all kinds of talk of doing annual fundraiser for Larry's children, possibly the Belair to Ocean City ride he did every year.
Ghost bikes are fine but not sure they do much good and that stretch of road is so pretty.
My thinking for tomorrow is just to show support and no better way to do that than have hundreds of law abiding cyclist show their faces to the public. The hostility and disregard for cyclists has to stop or at least be recognized.

I didn't think it wise to have one group or club responsible for this ride, a few reasons.
A-Liability
B-It's not just the BBC, posting here to get the word out but also on other club sites etc
C-Not one person or entity can be responsible for this. It is a spontaneous reaction to a tragedy and a need.

Terry,
You can go ahead and post that route. With all the tools on the web I think even if people aren't riding with teh mmain group sthey can get to Cromwell, they can also get there by train (leave plenty of time) I'm heading out now to check route from here to Cromwell. Back at you later. Keep talking people!!! I heard there may be people coming as far away as NY, some guy has posted it on his club site up there.
I hope to be pleasantly surprised tomorrow, but any number is a good number. But if you have time think of ways to get some last minute word out there. Call the shops etc.

Not sure we can meet up at the harbor for coverage. I have e-mailed the stations and the Sun and have given there our meet up times and route. If anybody knows how to get more publicty please do so. I've got a few pieces of info that I will act on later when back from my pre ride.
OUT-I'll have my Blackberry as I ride.

It's approx 18 miles from the Starbucks to Cromwell. We are leaving Starbucks at 8am, that gives us 1.5 hrs to do 18, not very fast.

As for pick up times you all need to figure that our for yourselves. There certainly will be delays, we probably won't leave Cromwell exactly at 9:30. We still have 2.5 hours to go from Cromwell to Annapolis, a distance of about 18 miles.

Terry, Jeff etc. That all sounds right as far as meet up times. I'm sure there will be some people ahead of schedule and some behind. Stay tuned for a meet up point at the bottom of the b&a where we can all meet up and ride into Annapolis together.

I am going to recon part of the Baltimore route this morning to make sure there aren't any surprises. I'll report back later and then send you my route so we can wrap this thing up tight.

I sent out announcements to Joe's Bike Shop, Light St. Cycles, Balt Sun, TV Stations etc. Anything anybody can do to get this thing to grow-DO IT.

I got an e-mail last night  from Tami, Larry's widow. She is very eager to join us in Annapolis and to speak of her husband and how this law could possibly have saved his life. Remeber this ride has to be very cool, a lot of singling up, no running lights, anything like that. With such a big group we are bound to have some small infractions but let's do our best. Psyched!!
