Civil War Century 2020 is Cancelled

As your Civil War Century event coordinators, we sincerely regret to have to announce that our club’s signature event is cancelled for 2020. We hope to see everyone back for the next Civil War Century event on Saturday, September 11^th, 2021! As a club member, consider making it a priority to volunteer to ensure our success.

When we kicked off our planning just after the new year began, we had high hopes that this 20th consecutive year of the CWC would be special. Since the COVID-19 crisis emerged, we have been exploring contingencies to host a safe event. We had been monitoring the evolving opening stages in both Maryland and Pennsylvania. In our final analysis, we assessed that the best projections for progressing into stage three of the roadmap, where a 1000+ person event would be welcomed, would be later than our event. Extraordinary measures would have been required to manage safe environments for both riders and volunteers at the rest stops, the ride celebration and sag service. While our event offers riders exceptional scenery and the terrain to earn bragging points, the event is so much more than the just a bicycle ride with the unique camaraderie found in the gatherings at the rest stops and end of ride celebration.
