Those wishing to join the group at closer locations on the B&A Trail might consider Earleigh Heights Ranger Station at 1:15pm or Big Bean Coffee (just north of McKinsey Rd) at 1:25pm. This will be a rain or shine unless there is severe weather forecasted for that day.

Distance: The length of the ride from the Mall Parking lot to the Jones Station Crossroads Sign is 7 miles. Total round trip will be 14 miles. The trail is flat, this will be a no-drop ride.

Please join us for a ride to the unveiling of the beautiful new Jones Station Crossroads Sign on the Baltimore & Annapolis (B&A) Trail placed in memory of beloved cyclist Arthur Carter Jr.   The beautiful new sign designed by Kathleen Hayes, who was in the group of riders with Arthur, is a strong cyclist, a professional landscape architect and graphic designer with experience in trail signage and other active transportation infrastructure, celebrates the intersection of local, regional and national trails.

The loss of Arthur, the generous donors, BikeAAA and its partners and Kathleen’s expertise and creativity all came together to design and fabricate this beautiful new Jones Station Crossroads Sign which was installed on April 11, 2024. The Carter family graciously designated Bicycle Advocates for Annapolis & Anne Arundel County (BikeAAA) for donations in Arthur’s memory to develop a tribute to their beloved husband, father, grandfather and son.

The ride will be led by riders who were part of the group of 7 friends that fateful day. We hope you will join us in this ride to honor our dear friend and show support for each other as we all participate in the unveiling of this beautiful sign celebrating the intersection of several trails and honoring the memory of our friend Arthur Carter, Jr. For more details about the sign please visit this link!
