The repaving has started.
Forum: Road Problems

They have started repaving Butler Rd starting at Falls Rd on 5/31/2016.  One of the flagmen said the project would take 3 to 4 weeks.

Saturday's Piney Hill Loop will start from Oregon Ridge Nature Center instead of the Oregon Ridge Lodge because of Karmafest.  The access road to the nature center is directly behind the Oregon Grille at Shawan and Beaver Dam Rds.

I'm cancelling the Piney Hill Loop due to wet roads.  With the cloudy forecast they won't dry out by start time.  I don't want to take a chance that someone falls on a wet descent.  Better weather is coming, I hope!

I moved the starting time back to 10:00 AM because of a running race at Oregon Ridge from 7 to 9:30 AM.

The July 4th Meadowood to Mt Zion ride has been cancelled because of the rain and wet roads.

Because there are some fast descents on the Meadowood to Mt Zion ride, I am cancelling the ride because of the drizzle and wet roads.

Because the snow is falling and the roads could be slippery, I'm cancelling today's ride.  At 11:20 PM last night, the local weatherman said the snow wouldn't fall south of PA.  He was wrong!  Sorry for the late notice but when I woke up and looked outside, it was clear.  Not so clear at 9:20 AM.

At 10:00 AM today (11/12), the wind chill will be 31.  There will be better weather days to ride to Hampstead for a cheese Danish.

I think the Grand Prix is going to fade away (or should.)

I bumped into Baltimore's mayor at a Giant grocery store last year and suggested a bike race on the grand prix course.  She referred me to one of her staff members who forwarded the idea to one of the promoters where it died.  I had even suggested we be given a non-prime time (e.g., midnight?) for the bike race but it didn't matter.

Wally's on Rayville Rd--no restroom facilities
Forum: Road Problems

Wally's only has carry out service, no tables and chairs for eating.  There are athletic fields on Rayville Rd.  At the moment, there are two porta potties that weren't locked and were very clean on Saturday, 8/10.  Not as convenient as Wally's but when you have to go, you have to go!!!
